SPEAKERS Group dialogue with representatives from the faith and healing communities
Faith and Healing
All are welcome to join us in a discussion on how faith traditions and spiritual practices foster healing. This will be an interfaith dialogue about the role spiritual beliefs play in healing. We are defining the word "healing" for our topic in relationship to the original anglo-saxon meaning of the word as "to be or become whole". This definition of healing inclusively encompasses all aspects of wholeness where body, mind and spirit are seen as one. The discussion will include ways healing can occur within ourselves, our families, communities, nation and the world in relationship to faith. The words "faith and healing" include; healing ministries, healing services, spiritual healing programs, faith healing, laying of hands and other healing practices found in the context of churches, temples and other spiritually inspired gatherings. We will also address whether bringing together people of varied spiritual traditions in open dialogue can bridge understanding and bring about healing between groups and individuals. This is an open dialogue facilitated by representatives of the faith and healing communities.
